Cadillac is known as the place to catch a great sunrise, but why not try one of the many alternative peaks to enjoy the early morning light. A great family favorite sunrise hike is to the summit of Gorham Mountain. This 1 mile out, 1 mile back route is a great way to start the day and you will catch the sun peaking over the horizon as the lobster boats set out for their day.
The Gorham parking lot is located along Ocean Drive or an alternative trail head is 1/10th of a mile prior to the Fabri Picnic area on the Otter Cliffs Road.
After enjoying a beautiful sunrise without the crowds of Cadillac, head back into downtown Bar Harbor for an early morning breakfast at Jordan’s on Cottage Street, or my personal favorite, grabbing a coffee and breakfast sandwich from Chocolatte and head down to the pier to watch Bar Harbor wake up for the day.
